From craftsmanship to precision

In a traditional distillery, centuries of craftsmanship met the challenges of modern production. Rising energy costs, stricter environmental regulations, and increasing demand for consistency made reliable flow measurement more critical than ever.

The plant’s old instruments were no longer up to the task — readings were unstable, maintenance was time-consuming, and process data lacked accuracy.

To continue growing, the distillery needed to upgrade its flow monitoring system without interrupting production or compromising its product quality.

The challenge

The project came with multiple technical and operational challenges:

  • Old pipework incompatible with standard flow sensors
  • Aggressive process media such as alcohol and cleaning agents
  • High wastewater treatment costs
  • Limited shutdown time for installation and calibration

The distillery looked for a measurement partner who could deliver both the right technology and strong engineering support — a solution that combined technical precision with practical field experience.

Engineers worked closely with the customer to analyze the entire process. From alcohol distillation to wastewater handling. Together we designed a complete flow measurement system that could withstand chemical stress, fit existing pipelines, and provide reliable real-time data. From system configuration to final calibration, it was all completed within two weeks and without production downtime.

Electromagnetic flowmeter

At the heart of the solution: the MFE600E electromagnetic flowmeter, chosen for its robust design and accuracy in conductive liquids. With no moving parts, and which is maintenance-free and long-lasting.
