About the A711-2 / A716-2 Floor- & Wall-Mount Tiltmeter

– Precision biaxial tilt measurement for tough installations

The A711-2 (floor-mount) and A716-2 (wall-mount) are precision 2-axis tiltmeters that bolt or clamp to virtually any surface and are especially well suited for areas with heavy traffic or vibration. Their electronic performance is identical to the A701-2 platform tiltmeter, making them a proven choice when you need the same measurement quality in a more rugged mounting format.

With two switchable gains and two low-pass filter settings, the A711-2/A716-2 can be tuned to your application—balancing sensitivity and signal smoothing for reliable long-term measurements. The sensor is sensitive to <0.1 µrad and provides a stable ±8 VDC output (±16 VDC differential) for straightforward integration into data acquisition systems.

Key benefits

  • Bolt-on / clamp-on installation for floor or wall mounting
  • 2 switchable gains + 2 low-pass filters for flexible signal optimization
  • High sensitivity for precision alignment and deformation monitoring
  • Outputs: ±8 VDC single-ended / ±16 VDC differential
  • Channels: X-tilt, Y-tilt, Temperature

Versions (quick selection guide)

  • Type-A (High-Gain): linear range ±0.046° (high-gain) / ±0.46° (low-gain), resolution 0.1 µrad
  • Type-B (Mid-Range): linear range ±0.8° (high-gain) / ±8.0° (low-gain), resolution 1.0 µrad

Typical applications

Designed for high-accuracy tilt monitoring where a rugged, bolt-on installation is required, including:

  • Volcano monitoring
  • High-precision geotechnical engineering
  • Bridge deflection monitoring
  • Precision metrology
  • Radar platform leveling
