About the D711-A/B/C Digital Floor-Mount Tiltmeter

– rugged, high-precision 2-axis tilt monitoring with advanced digital firmware

The D711 Digital Floor-Mount Tiltmeter is a rugged, high-precision biaxial (X/Y) electrolytic tiltmeter built for demanding field and industrial installations. It bolts or clamps to virtually any horizontal surface and is especially well suited for locations with heavy traffic or vibration.

At its core, the D711 uses a high-precision electrolytic sensing element to deliver up to 1 µrad resolution with virtually zero long-term drift—ideal for long-term structural and geotechnical monitoring. Digital output is available via RS232 or RS422 (RS485 full-duplex), enabling straightforward integration into DAQ systems and networks.

Key benefits

  • Rugged floor-mount design: bolt-on / clamp-on installation for high-traffic, high-vibration areas
  • Digital interfaces: RS232 or RS422 (RS485 full-duplex)
  • Programmable firmware controls: sample averaging, auto-zero (tare), baud/output rate, temperature compensation, and more
  • On-board memory: stores up to 22,000 samples for periodic download or field campaigns
  • Measurement channels: X-tilt, Y-tilt, plus temperature (per datasheet channel listing)

Versions (quick selection guide)

  • D711-A (High-Gain): calibrated linear range ±0.5°, resolution 1 µrad
  • D711-B (Mid-Range): calibrated linear range ±5.0°, resolution 10 µrad
  • D711-C (Wide-Angle): calibrated linear range ±60°, resolution 21 µrad

Typical applications

Use the D711 for high-accuracy tilt monitoring such as:

  • Volcano monitoring
  • Geotechnical engineering / structural monitoring
  • Bridge deflection monitoring
  • Precision metrology
  • Radar platform leveling
