About the LCI Single-Axis Analog Inclinometer

The LCI single-axis servo tilt sensor is an industrial 1-axis inclinometer based on the force-balance/servo principle with a flexure suspension, designed for low-frequency tilt measurement applications with high stability. With measurement ranges from ±3° to ±90°, it serves as a reliable tilt reference sensor wherever repeatable results, low hysteresis, and high resolution are required.

The LCI is optimized for precision during slow movements/tilts: the standard 5 Hz bandwidth provides smooth, stable signals, while the µrad-level angular resolution (resolution/threshold: 1 µrad) makes the smallest changes detectable. At the same time, the sensor offers excellent power-on repeatability and very low hysteresis—important for recurring measurement and calibration tasks.

Benefits

  • Measurement ranges: ±3°, ±5°, ±10°, ±14.5°, ±30° or ±90°
  • Analog output: ±5 V (FRO ±5%) across all ranges
  • High accuracy: non-linearity up to 0.02–0.05% FRO depending on range
  • Very high resolution: 1 µrad (resolution/threshold)
  • Temperature stability: scale factor temperature sensitivity 100 ppm/°C
  • Rugged operating range: -55 °C to +85 °C, shock resistance (e.g., 3-foot drop)

Applications

The LCI is particularly suitable for precise tilt and alignment tasks, including:

  • Robotics orientation and attitude/tilt reference
  • Antenna leveling (alignment/leveling)
  • Laboratory and test-bench applications as well as calibration tasks (e.g., vertical reference)
  • Vehicle technology (e.g., wheel/axle alignment)
  • Rail and infrastructure: train tilt control, tunnel tilt measurement, track monitoring/testing
