The SE2100045-1 silver and copper slipring is a main component of the Althen propeller shaft earthing system. It provides the contact surface required to transfer electrical current from the rotating propeller shaft to the ship’s hull.
The slipring consists of a copper strip with a solid silver inlay. Silver graphite earthing brushes run over the silver contact track while the shaft rotates. This combination supports a stable electrical connection with low resistance.
The SE2100045-1 can be installed on propeller shafts with diameters ranging from Ø100 to Ø1400 mm. The strip is mounted around the shaft using two stainless steel clamping bands and dedicated connectors.

The silver and copper slipring is designed for use as part of the 8047A propeller shaft earthing set. In the complete system, silver graphite brushes maintain contact with the silver track. The brush holder is connected to the ship’s hull by an earthing cable.
Together, these components provide a controlled path for electrical currents. This helps protect shaft bearings and other propulsion components against spark erosion and electrical discharge damage.
