About the FBD-Series Brake Disk Profile Gauge
The FBD Disc brake profile gauge is a laser-based measurement system for inspecting the working surface of railway brake discs. It measures brake disc thickness, brake disc wear and overall brake disc thickness, while also providing full profile scanning and analysis.
With a measurement error of ±0.03 mm and an indication resolution of 0.01 mm, the system supports accurate and repeatable brake disc condition monitoring. The profile measurement range is 150 mm, enabling detailed analysis of the disc surface.
Usage conditions
The FBD is suitable for measuring brake discs installed on the wheel as well as brake discs installed on the wheelset axle. For axle-mounted brake discs, a removable bracket is used. The laser scanning module is positioned directly on the brake disc, allowing measurements without removing the disc from the vehicle.
The system uses Bluetooth connectivity to smart devices. Any outdated PDA references in the manual should be understood as obsolete for the Althen version.
