Last month, Althen Sensors & Controls' ISO 9001 certificate was renewed. After a period of hard work we also obtained our much-coveted ISO 14001 certificate. This new certificate for our environmental policy and sustainable performances is a confirmation that Althen manages the environmental risks of its business activities.
ISO 14001 certificate for our environmental management system
The certification of our quality and environmental management system through the certificate is recognition of the way in which the implementation of our environmental policy is secured in the organisation. The way in which Althen continuously strives to improve in terms of sustainability was also assessed positively. We are very proud that our environmental management system meets all the requirements of the internationally recognised standard.
Focused on environmental and quality management
Althen takes many energy-saving measures to reduce waste. The solar panels we recently installed are just one of the many examples. We are also very critical of our waste and paper trails for example. It is about our overall impact on the world around us and our role within the chain. Our Handbook sets out how we continuously strive to improve and get better. We do this by implementing necessary actions to meet customer requirements, increase customer satisfaction, and improve the operation of the environmental and quality management system.
The external auditor concluded that Althen has a documented and implemented management system. All persons, information and locations required for the audit were available and accessible. The management system is effectively implemented and monitored. As a result, we meet the NEN-EN-ISO 14001:2015 standard requirements.
Managementsystem
Are we all set now? No, most definitely not. Obtaining the ISO 14001 certificate and the extension of ISO 9001 is a milestone for us. However, as mentioned, our management system is constantly striving for improvements. Through internal proposals, but also as a result of (internal) audits, various registrations and through management review, countless proposals for improvement arise. We continuously strive for improvement. Althen is on the right track, but for us this is only the beginning.
