In Althen’s Privacy Policy, we describe how we handle your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and what options you have regarding the collection and processing of your personal information. The Privacy Policy applies to all of our customers worldwide and may be updated from time to time as a result of new developments or changes in legislation.

What information do we collect from you?

To process quotations and orders, we require your company and personal details. Personal data refers to information that can be linked to an individual natural person. We register this information in our ERP system and our Outlook email system.

We use your data to send quotations and orders, and to maintain personal contact via email and telephone.

Your rights (access, correction and deletion)

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data by contacting us at sales@althen.nl. You may also request information about which personal data we store and for what purposes we use it.

Data retention periods and legal obligations

Please note that we are not always permitted to delete certain data immediately. For example, contact details linked to orders may not be deleted within two years. In addition, some data is subject to a statutory retention period of seven years.

Data security

We handle your personal data with care and ensure that it is properly secured by our ICT service provider.

Processing of quotation requests

Quotations sent to sales@althen.nl are processed by our sales engineers. We store your contact and request details in our ERP system to handle your request and to contact you.

Use for marketing purposes

In some cases, our marketing department may use your data for marketing activities. You always have the right to object to this use.

Shipping and logistics

When you place an order with us, we are responsible for ensuring that your package is delivered to you. We use the services of logistics providers such as UPS and K+N to handle our shipments.

For delivery purposes, it is necessary to share your name and address details with these carriers. They use this information exclusively to fulfil the delivery of your order.

If a carrier engages subcontractors, your data may also be shared with these parties, solely for the purpose of completing the delivery.

Job applications

When you apply for a position at Althen, we store your motivation letter and curriculum vitae. This information may be reviewed by the HR department and the Personnel Administration department.

If no agreement is reached, we will delete or destroy your digital and/or paper CV and motivation letter after two months, unless you have given written permission for us to retain your data for a longer period.

If an employment contract is concluded, your CV will be stored securely in a locked cabinet. Only the Personnel Administration department has access to this information.

Newsletter

We regularly send newsletters to customers and interested parties. For this purpose, we use the email marketing platform Zoho Campaigns. Through our newsletter, we provide information about our products and applications and share news about Althen Sensors & Controls.

When you provide us with your email address, for example when requesting a quotation, we may send you our monthly Althen Newsletter. You always have the right to object to this, and you can unsubscribe at any time by sending an email to marketing@althen.nl or by using the unsubscribe link included in the newsletter.

You can also subscribe to our newsletters via our website. After signing up for our newsletter you will receive a sign-up link to ensure that you are the person who signs up for our newsletter. After confirming via this link, your e-mail address will be added to the mailing list. If you no longer wish to receive newsletters from us, you can unsubscribe via the link in the newsletter or by emailing marketing@althen.nl.

Using Zoho Campaigns statistics, we analyse the relevance of our newsletter content. Based on these insights, we continuously improve and optimise our newsletters.

Customer visits to our office

To ensure the safety of our visitors and employees, we use CCTV surveillance outside our premises. The cameras are used solely for security purposes. The process for reviewing recorded footage complies with applicable privacy legislation. The footage is only accessed in the event of an incident and is deleted within the legally permitted retention period.

Website & cookies

Althen uses cookies and JavaScripts (collectively referred to as “cookies”) on its website. To manage these cookies properly and to comply with the latest privacy legislation, we use the Cookiebot cookie management tool.

You can adjust your cookie preferences for the Althen website at any time by clicking the Cookiebot icon in the lower-left corner of the website.

Third-party analytical tools

We use analytical tools, including third-party tools, to help us identify potential performance opportunities and issues on our website, improve stability, functionality, and relevance, and gain insight into how visitors use our website. etracker
This website uses services provided by etracker GmbH (Hamburg, Germany) to analyse usage data. By default, we do not use cookies for web analytics with etracker. etracker cookies do not contain information that allows users to be identified.

Data generated by etracker is processed and stored exclusively in Germany on behalf of the website operator. Data that may be linked to an individual, such as IP addresses, login details, or device IDs, is anonymised or pseudonymised at the earliest possible stage. The data is not used for other purposes, is not merged with other data sets, and is not shared with third parties.

reCAPTCHA

This website uses the reCAPTCHA service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”). This service is primarily used to determine whether an entry is made by a natural person or through abusive automated or machine-based processing.

Google analyses various data to assess whether you are a human or a computer. This includes the IP address of the device used, the website you visit and on which the captcha is integrated, the date and duration of the visit, identification data of the browser and operating system used, and your Google account if you are logged in.

The legal basis for this data processing is Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We have a legitimate interest in this processing to ensure the security of our website and to protect it against automated inputs and attacks.

When using Google reCAPTCHA, personal data may also be transferred to servers of Google LLC in the United States. In principle, the IP address is shortened within Member States of the European Union or other states that are party to the European Economic Area (EEA). Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the United States and shortened there.

Use of Google Ads Enhanced Conversions

Our website uses Google Ads Enhanced Conversions provided by Google Ireland Ltd. This feature allows us to better measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. When you submit a form on our website, such as a contact or quotation request form, certain data (such as your email address) may be shared with Google in a hashed form (SHA256), provided you have given consent via our cookie banner.

Google uses this data to attribute conversions to previous ad interactions, with the aim of optimising advertising campaigns. The data is processed securely and is not used to personally identify you. More information can be found in Google’s documentation on Enhanced Conversions.
