Fiber optic load cells
A fiber optic load cell, also called an optical force sensor, uses optical fiber technology to measure forces. Unlike traditional load cells that use electronic resistors, strain gauges or pressure sensors, a fiber optic load cell uses changes in the light signal sent through an optical fiber to measure the applied force.
