ASC 281 Tactical grade gyroscope (uniaxial)

Ultra-stable uniaxial and triaxial MEMS gyroscope with FOG-like precision for navigation, orientation, and inertial bridging.

Key features

  • MEMS vibrating ring gyroscope with differential analog output
  • Excellent bias stability: 0.03 to 0.10 °/hr
  • Angular random walk as low as 0.005 °/√hr
  • Wide measurement range: ±10 °/s to ±400 °/s
  • Temperature output included
  • IP65 aluminum housing with detachable cable

Performance highlights ASC 281 Gyroscope

The ASC 281 (uniaxial) and ASC 283 (triaxial) gyroscopes are tactical-grade sensors based on MEMS vibrating ring technology. Offering FOG-like performance, they combine ultra-low bias drift, excellent angular random walk, and robust analog differential output to meet the demands of navigation and control systems.

Usage conditions

Designed for rugged environments, this gyro features IP65-rated anodized aluminum housings and is shock-resistant up to 1,000 g. Available in multiple ranges (±10 to ±400 °/s) and includes an analog temperature output for real-time thermal monitoring.

Possible applications

  • Gyro compassing for ships and unmanned vehicles
  • AHRS and flight instruments
  • Inertial navigation in AGVs, drones, ROVs, or railway vehicles
  • Sensor fusion in robotics and autonomous systems
  • Mid-term inertial bridging when GNSS is unavailable

Advantages of this gyroscope

Engineers benefit from high precision with compact form factor, low power consumption (<40 mA for ASC 281), and flexibility in system integration via detachable cable options and connector variants. The performance is suitable for mission-critical systems where GPS gaps need to be compensated reliably.

Other important features

  • Power supply: 8 to 30 VDC
  • Analog output: ±2.0 V FSO (quasi-differential)
  • Triaxial version with common or independent signal configuration
  • Optional ISO 17025 calibration
