About the P101 Linear Inductive Position Sensor
Versatile linear feedback for industrial use. The P101 from Althen is a self-contained linear position sensor delivering high-resolution stroke feedback. Its compact form factor and flexible configurations make it ideal for industrial machinery, automation systems, and OEM product integration.
Further features
- Non-contact inductive measurement for long service life
- Custom-calibrated travel from 5 mm to 800 mm
- Multiple mounting options: rod eye, dome end, magnetic tip
- Wide output options including voltage and 4–20 mA current loop
- Compatible with body clamps and sprung push rod up to 300 mm
Reliable, wear-free technology
Utilizing non-contact inductive sensing with ASIC control, the P101 provides absolute position feedback with zero mechanical wear, infinite resolution, and outstanding repeatability. The system is resistant to vibration, shock (40g), and pressure up to 350 bar, making it suitable for harsh environments.
Custom travel lengths & output types
Each unit is factory calibrated to a travel length between 5 mm and 800 mm. Supported output types include:
- 0.5–4.5V ratiometric
- ±5V / ±10V
- 0.5–9.5V
- 4–20 mA (2 or 3 wire)
The P101 is EMC-compliant (EN 61000-6-2 & -6-3) and sealed to IP65 or IP67, depending on cable/connector choice.
Flexible mounting & rod configuration
The P101 can be mounted using M5 rod eye bearings, clamps (codes P/P2), or directly threaded. Push rod options include free or captive, sprung-loaded (up to 300 mm), with female M5 thread, rod-eye, dome end, or magnetic tip. Full installation and pinout details are shown on pages 3–5.
Applications
- Linear displacement in test benches and automation
- Control feedback in industrial equipment
- Scientific instrumentation
- OEM actuators and mechatronic systems
