About the D801 “Tuff Tilt Digital”

– high-precision digital tiltmeter with data logging and RS232/RS422

The D801 “Tuff Tilt Digital” is a high-performance digital tiltmeter (available in single- or dual-axis versions) with advanced firmware features for reliable tilt monitoring in industrial and structural monitoring applications. It uses an absolute, gravity-referenced electrolytic tilt sensor, delivering very high accuracy with virtually zero long-term drift. Thanks to 16-bit A/D conversion, the D801 is sensitive down to < 0.0001° (≈ 0.0017 mm/m).

For system integration, the D801 supports RS232 or RS422 (RS485 full-duplex). It also includes on-board memory for up to 22,000 readings, allowing data to be logged internally for later download or streamed continuously. The IP65 seal provides reliable protection against environmental exposure.

Features / benefits

  • Digital outputs: RS232 or RS422 (RS485 full-duplex)
  • Output formats: NMEA XDR, Trimble TCM, Ashtec compatible, Simple (default: X, Y, Temp., S/N)
  • Configurable firmware: sample averaging, auto-zero (tare), baud/output rate, etc.
  • On-board data logging: up to 22,000 samples
  • Axes / channels: 1 or 2 axes; X-tilt, Y-tilt, temperature, serial number
  • Weather/industrial protection: IP65, operating −40 to +85 °C
  • Supply: 7–28 VDC, reverse polarity protected
  • Cable/connection: 3 m cable, DB9 for digital I/O

Tilt ranges (selection)

  • ±0.5°, ±3°, ±50°

Typical applications

  • Structural monitoring (structures/industrial assets)
  • Platform leveling
  • Industrial measurement & control
