About the D802 “Deepwater”

– digital, submersible tiltmeter for offshore and deep-ocean applications (RS232/RS422, up to 2,500 m)

The D802 Deepwater is a high-precision, submersible digital tiltmeter designed for marine, offshore, and deep-ocean deployments. It uses an absolute, gravity-referenced electrolytic sensor, delivering very high accuracy with virtually zero long-term drift. High-gain versions achieve sensitivity down to < 0.0017 mm/m (or better).

For integration into measurement and monitoring systems, the D802 supports RS232 or RS422. Its housing is engineered for underwater use and is watertight down to 2,500 m (IP68)—ideal for long-term stable measurements in demanding environments.

Key benefits

  • Digital output: RS232 or RS422
  • Output formats: NMEA XDR, Trimble TCM, Ashtec compatible, Simple (default: X, Y, Temp., S/N)
  • 1 or 2 axes, channels X-tilt, Y-tilt, temperature
  • Ranges: ±0.5°, ±3°, ±50° (custom ranges on request)
  • Resolution (range dependent): < 0.0001° (±0.5°), 0.002° (±3°), 0.02° (±50°)
  • Submersible: IP68, watertight to 2,500 m
  • Rugged construction: 316 stainless steel, approx. 5 kg, 3 m cable + DB9 for digital I/O
  • Supply: 7–25 VDC (typ. 27 mA), reverse polarity protected
  • Temperature: operating −4 to +60 °C, storage −30 to +100 °C

Typical applications

  • Structural monitoring (subsea or offshore structures/assets)
  • Platform leveling
  • Angle measurement & control / industrial measurement & control in marine installations
