Performance highlights S623 Submersible Large Angle Tilt Sensor

The S623 is a high-accuracy tilt sensor designed for underwater and subsea applications. It provides linear output across a custom-calibrated angle range, typically between 15° and 160°. With non-contact inductive technology, it eliminates wear and ensures exceptional long-term reliability. The sensor is also vibration and shock resistant, suitable for dynamic and harsh conditions.

Usage conditions

Housed in corrosion-resistant stainless steel 316 and sealed to IP68 for up to 350 bar, the S623 withstands extreme underwater environments. It features wet mate connectors and is supplied with an over-moulded cable assembly. It supports multiple output configurations (voltage and current) and has a wide operating temperature range of -4°C to +50°C.

Possible applications:

  • Subsea ROVs and AUVs
  • Submersible tilt angle feedback
  • Underwater positioning systems
  • Marine construction equipment
  • Tilt monitoring in high-pressure tanks
  • Offshore wind turbine foundations

Advantages of choosing this sensor

The S623 stands out for its combination of large angular range, robustness, and precise linearity. It is fully customizable, with a wide range of electrical outputs, mounting options, and connector configurations. Delivered factory-calibrated and ready to integrate, it reduces engineering effort and ensures a reliable solution even in critical marine environments.

Other important features:

  • MTBF of 350,000 hours @ 40°C
  • Infinite resolution and 250 ms typical response time
  • Optional Z-code for ±0.1% FSO linearity
  • Meets EMC standards: EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-6-3
  • Directionally marked with registration mark on body
  • Compatible with standard wet mate connector formats
