About the eCCT Hot-Wire Temperature Measurement System

The eCCT hot-wire temperature measurement system is a high-dynamic measurement solution for the precise detection of temperatures in moving airflows. It is based on the Constant Current Thermometry (CCT) principle and enables very fast temperature measurements with minimal thermal inertia.

The system is specifically designed for use with compatible hot-wire probes and is factory preconfigured. This makes it ready to use immediately without any additional calibration or adjustment. The sensors are precisely matched to the associated electronics; therefore, extending the sensor cables is not possible.

The eCCT operates within a calibrated temperature range of 0 °C to +150 °C for air temperature measurements. Its robust design also allows operation under extended environmental conditions, while the sensing elements themselves can tolerate significantly higher peak temperatures.

The system is operated via a central measurement and data acquisition unit, which handles both power supply and signal processing. In combination with the data acquisition system, the measured signals are directly digitized and output as temperature values.

As with the associated flow measurement system, the signal can also be output acoustically via headphones. This enables an intuitive perception of dynamic temperature and flow changes, which is particularly advantageous for aeroacoustic analysis.

Hot-wire probe – eCCT hot-wire bridge – signal conditioning/power supply – data acquisition (A/D converter)

Probe and electronics form a calibrated unit and must not be separated or modified by cable extensions, as this would affect measurement accuracy.
