About the FDKP Super short wheel profile gauge
The FDKP Super short wheel profile gauge is an ultra-compact laser-based measurement system for accurate and repeatable inspection of railway wheel geometry in areas with extremely limited access. It measures critical parameters such as flange height, flange thickness and flange slope, while also capturing the full rolling surface profile.
With a measurement deviation of ≤ 0.1 mm and a scanning time of 1–2 seconds, it enables fast and reliable measurements in demanding railway maintenance environments.
Usage conditions
The FDKP Super short version is designed for railway applications where standard or short wheel profile gauges cannot be positioned easily. Its reduced form factor makes it suitable for complex wheel access situations around bogies, brake systems and restricted mechanical layouts.
The device is mounted directly on the wheel using magnetic support positioning and enables measurements without removing the wheelset from the rolling stock.
