As a pioneer in sensor and control technologies Althen Sensors & Controls is proud to announce a significant expansion of its Research and Development (R&D) department, marking a strategic investment in driving innovation and advancing technological frontiers in the industry. Because of our commitment to excellence and forward-thinking solutions, we have reinforced our dedication to fostering cutting-edge technologies by welcoming two brand new and very talented individuals to our R&D team. This expansion is a testament to Althen's unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of sensors and controls innovation.

Research and development department

The R&D department at Althen Sensors & Controls plays a pivotal role in the company's success, driving product innovation, conducting in-depth research, and ensuring the development of state-of-the-art sensor and control technologies. It is the heartbeat of our innovation engine, Constantly exploring new avenues, enhancing existing technologies, and exploring sustainable solutions. With a keen focus on meeting evolving market demands and exceeding industry standards, the team is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and refining products that redefine possibilities in the sensors and controls domain. We remain committed to nurturing a culture of innovation, and this investment in talent signifies our dedication to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in our industry.

 Our new team members

The addition of Jasper Klip as our Project Engineer (electronics) is actually nothing new. As a driven Embedded Systems student at T.U. Delft, he has already proved over the past year that he simply belongs with us. We are also extremely pleased with the addition of Wolraad Kempe. As Project Engineer Wolraad's specialism is mechanics and systems. Despite his young age, he has already built up an impressive CV as Systems Engineer and Project Manager.

Infusion of talent 

The addition of Jasper and Wolraad to the R&D team in Holland represents a pivotal moment in our journey, reinforcing our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that address the ever-evolving needs of our customers. Whether it's product innovation, research, design or quality assurance, under the leadership of Sr. Technical Project Engineer, Sylvio Puzzo, and with Software Engineer, Andreas Verbruggen, the team is all set to realise all measurement projects and new sensor developments in the coming period. The infusion of all this talent signifies a strategic endeavor to fortify Althen's core values of innovation, quality, and customer-centricity.

Current R&D projects

The full commitment of the growing team is much needed, as there are many projects in the pipeline at the moment. For instance, it is involved in the new development a wireless IoT temperature sensor solution. They are also working on upgrades to the renowned SmartBrick IoT monitoring of civil infrastructure solution and the 3D Wheel + system for automated non-contact measurement of train, tram and metro wheels. In addition, the team is currently involved in the SmartBed project from their expertise and vision. 

On the other hand, the passionate R&D team has also done a lot internally for our brand-new Experience Center in Rijswijk, for example. All the ideation and realisations have been done by them, and for 2024 they have more applications in mind for our Center.

Milestone in our progression

The contributions made by the R&D Team and its two new members mark a significant milestone in our progression, further solidifying our dedication to delivering state-of-the-art measurement and sensor solutions tailored to meet the continuously evolving demands of our valued customers.
