Biaxial tiltmeters contain two orthogonal tilt sensors. The vector sum of the outputs of both channels yields the direction and magnitude of rotation with respect to the vertical gravity vector. The 700-Series platform and surface mount tiltmeters also contain a temperature sensor that is installed in the baseplate beside the tilt sensors. This temperature sensor allows you to record and evaluate the effects of temperature changes on measured structural and ground behavior.
