G103 Short stroke linear position sensor (intrinsically safe)
Compact, short-body inductive position sensor for gas/vapour hazardous areas. Calibrated travel from 2 to 50 mm with stable, linear output for precise OEM integration.
Key features
- Intrinsically safe for class i zone 0 and c1d1
- Non-contact inductive design with no wear
- Custom calibrated travel 2–50 mm
- Short body with multiple mount options
- 0.5–4.5 v ratiometric output at 5 v
- Sealing to ip65 or ip67 as ordered
Performance highlights G103 Linear Inductive Position Sensor
The G103 uses non-contact inductive technology to deliver a linear, repeatable signal across its calibrated stroke. Independent linearity is ≤ ±0.25% fso at 20 °c, with low temperature coefficients for gain and offset. Frequency response exceeds 10 kHz for responsive measurement, while noise remains below 0.02% fso.
Usage conditions
Approved as ex ia iic t4 (class i, zone 0) and class i, division 1 groups a–d for operation between −40 to +80 °c. The sensor achieves ip65 or ip67 sealing depending on cable/connector choice and is tested to 10 g vibration and 40 g shock. Use with a galvanic isolation amplifier; althen recommends the g005 barrier.
Possible applications
- Valve position feedback in classified areas
- Short-stroke actuator and cylinder feedback
- Test rigs and fixtures with limited space
- Process equipment interlocks and motion checks
Advantages of choosing this product
A compact stainless steel body, short overall length, and flexible mounting—flange, body clamps, or rod-eye—make installation straightforward. Five-wire mode is supported for long cable runs to maintain full accuracy via remote sense with the galvanic isolation amplifier.
Other important features
- Output: 0.5–4.5 v ratiometric at 5 v supply
- Calibrated travel: 2–50 mm in 1 mm steps
- Options: sprung plunger, dome end, magnetic tip, m5 rod-eye
- Cable/connector choices incl. din 43650 c and m12 iec 61076-2-101
- Gain/offset trim available on axial versions
