New waterproof 350 Ω strain gauges from TML

News article

TML is expanding its proven WF series of waterproof strain gauges with the new WFCA-6-350 and WFRA-6-350 models. The new strain gauges feature a gauge length of 6 mm and a resistance of 350 Ω and are available as stacked 2-axis and 3-axis configurations.

Thanks to their fully epoxy-coated, waterproof design, the strain gauges are suitable for reliable strain measurements underwater, in rain and in high-humidity environments. They can be used on materials including metal, glass and ceramics.

The WF series is designed for an operating temperature range of 0 to +80 °C. The temperature compensation range is +10 to +80 °C, while the strain limit is 3%. Special lead wires help maintain the waterproof design, while the leads exiting in the same direction make installation and handling easier.

The new versions are available with 2-wire and 3-wire connection options.

Typical applications include structural health monitoring, bridge and plant engineering, transport infrastructure, as well as marine and hydraulic engineering projects. The waterproof WF series is particularly well suited to measuring points exposed to rain, moisture or direct contact with water, providing a robust solution for reliable strain measurement. The 2-axis and 3-axis versions are also suitable for applications where more complex strain conditions need to be measured.

The new WFCA-6-350 and WFRA-6-350 models will be available to order from 1 September 2026.
