About the DMU41 High-Performance Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)
Compact High-End IMU with Outstanding Performance
The DMU41 is a high-precision inertial measurement unit (IMU) that measures motion across six degrees of freedom – offering accuracy that outperforms many larger, heavier, more expensive, and less reliable fiber-optic gyro systems.
As an affordable MEMS-based alternative, it is not subject to ITAR restrictions and is ideal for demanding applications where size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) matter.
Building on the proven performance of the DMU30, the DMU41 is even smaller and lighter, with added user features. It has a volume of just 125 cm³, weighs less than 170 g, and consumes less than 2.5 W of power.
It delivers data rates up to 2 kHz, including:
- Angular velocity
- Acceleration
- Delta angle & delta velocity
- Temperature
- Built-in self-test results
Despite its compact size, the DMU41 offers the same high-quality performance as its predecessor – at half the size and weight. Each unit is individually calibrated across the full operating temperature range to ensure consistent and accurate results.
