Are there miniature differential pressure transducers?
An example of a very small differential pressure transducer is the mp2.40 from Sensorade. It is particularly suitable for air as the medium and for aerodynamics applications. However, differential pressure transducers require two pressure connections by design and are therefore usually larger than a single miniature pressure transducer.
For applications with very limited installation space, it should therefore be checked whether a compact differential pressure transducer is sufficient or whether a customer-specific solution with miniature pressure sensors is required. For which temperatures are miniature pressure transducers available?
Miniature pressure transducers from Althen are available for different temperature ranges depending on the model, from standard applications to high-temperature measurements in harsh environments. The exact temperature resistance depends on the sensor type, output signal, material, seal, cable and installation situation.
Examples from the Althen portfolio: The XPR46 miniature pressure sensor is designed for operating temperatures from -40 °C to +120 °C. The EPRB-1 can be used up to +150 °C. Ultra-miniature pressure sensors such as the MP-1.55 are available, depending on the version, for up to +100 °C or up to +185 °C. For particularly high temperatures, the XPC10 is suitable, with unamplified versions specified for -40 °C to +220 °C.

The dynamic performance of miniature pressure transducers depends on the model and is specified either as bandwidth, resonance frequency or usable frequency range. In general, many miniature pressure transducers from Althen are also suitable for fast pressure changes and dynamic measurement tasks.
Examples from the Althen portfolio: The EPRB-1 has a bandwidth of 400 Hz (-3 dB), making it suitable for dynamic pressure measurements in test benches, vehicle applications or hydraulic systems. The XPC10 achieves resonance frequencies from 34 kHz to 250 kHz, depending on the pressure range; the datasheet specifies the usable frequency as approximately 20% of the resonance frequency, while the amplified A1 version has a bandwidth of 600 Hz. The MP-1.55 is designed for particularly fast measurements and has a resonance frequency of up to 2.7 MHz. The XPR46 is described as a high-bandwidth sensor for high-frequency applications.
