Are there miniature differential pressure transducers?

An example of a very small differential pressure transducer is the mp2.40 from Sensorade. It is particularly suitable for air as the medium and for aerodynamics applications. However, differential pressure transducers require two pressure connections by design and are therefore usually larger than a single miniature pressure transducer.

For applications with very limited installation space, it should therefore be checked whether a compact differential pressure transducer is sufficient or whether a customer-specific solution with miniature pressure sensors is required. For which system pressures or line pressures are differential pressure transducers available?

Differential pressure transducers from Althen are available for different system pressures or static line pressures, depending on the model. For small differential pressures in gases, sensors in the mbar range are available. For wet/wet applications with liquids or gases, versions for significantly higher system pressures are available.

Depending on the series, static line pressures from approximately 100 bar to 600 bar are possible. Some models are designed for working pressure ratings of 160 bar, 250 bar or 400 bar. The available differential pressure measuring ranges vary by sensor and extend from very small mbar ranges to several hundred bar.

When selecting a sensor, engineers should consider not only the differential pressure range, but also the maximum line pressure, possible one-sided overload, medium, temperature, process connection and output signal. For which measuring ranges are differential pressure transducers available?

Differential pressure transducers from Althen are available for very small to very high differential pressure ranges, depending on the model. For fine pressure differences in gases, versions in the mbar range are available, starting from around 0.1 mbar. For industrial wet/wet applications with liquids or gases, sensors with measuring ranges from approximately 35 mbar up to several hundred bar are available.

Depending on the series, the available differential pressure measuring ranges extend approximately from 0.1 mbar to 500 bar. This makes the sensors suitable for applications such as filter monitoring, air and gas flow measurement or cleanroom technology, as well as hydraulic, process and test bench applications.

The right measuring range depends on the medium, static system pressure, possible overloads, required accuracy, process connection and desired output signal. Althen supports you in selecting the right differential pressure transducer for your application.
